Emilie Eats recommends freezing the fruits and veggies in this recipe beforehand for an even smoother consistency. She also adds a drop of stevia and a dash of vanilla for additional sweetness without having to add calories (since avocados are on the calorie-heavy side).

For this recipe you’ll need:

  • 1 banana, frozen
  • ½ medium avocado
  • 1 cup mango chunks, frozen
  • Splash of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup spinach
  • Few drops of stevia extract or other sweetener (optional)
  • 1 cup almond milk or other non-dairy milk

Without avocado, this smoothie needs something that will give it that creamy, unctuous texture: Greek yogurt. Packed with protein and richer than regular yogurt, Greek yogurt is the perfect smoothie add-in. A tip from Garnish and Glaze: if you are using frozen fruit, use ½ cup of liquid instead of just ¼ cup.

  • 1 cup pineapple
  • ¼-1/2 cup apple juice (or skim milk)
  • 1 banana
  • 2/3 cup low-fat vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup fresh baby spinach, packed

Coconut Tea Green Smoothie

This green smoothie, from Oh So Delicioso, is a bit different because the liquid included in the recipe is tea! This recipe is perfect as an all-in-one morning pick-me-up because of the hint of caffeine. The recipe calls for Coconut Lime tea to give the drink a pina-colada flavor – yum!

Another difference in this recipe is the addition of protein powder. The second recipe had Greek yogurt, which has a lot of protein, but the first recipe didn’t have any dairy. While the healthy fats in avocado will fill you up, protein will keep you satiated for a longer period of time. Try adding protein powder to the first recipe for a more substantial smoothie.

Coconut-Tea-Green-Smoothie

For this recipe you’ll need:

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • A handful of spinach
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple
  • A banana
